Onion pie is a French classic. Simple and easy to prepare. The pie turns out to be fragrant, satisfying and very tasty. No one will refuse such a gentle, mouth-watering delicacy.
It is necessary
- - flour 1 tbsp.
- - butter 100 gr.
- - eggs 5 pcs.
- - salt 1 tsp
- - cold water
- - onions - 5-6 pcs.
- - vegetable oil
- - ground black pepper
- - a pinch of ground cumin
- - heavy cream 1 tbsp.
- - cheese 300 gr.
Instructions
Step 1
In a deep bowl, combine one egg, salt, soft butter and flour. Add some cold water to the resulting mass so that the dough is elastic, resilient and does not stick to your hands. We knead the dough.
Step 2
We form a ball from the finished dough and wrap it in cling film. We leave the dough in the refrigerator for several hours.
Step 3
Cut the onion into thin half rings and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Add salt, pepper and caraway seeds to the sautéed onion (you can replace it with ground nutmeg), mix and leave the filling to cool.
Step 4
Beat 4 eggs and cream in a separate bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5
Lubricate the baking dish with butter or margarine. Roll out a thin layer of dough and gently distribute the dough over the entire baking dish, including the walls of the baking dish.
Step 6
Spread the sautéed onions evenly on the dough and pour the mixture of eggs and cream on top. Sprinkle the pie with grated cheese on top.
Step 7
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the cake for about 20 minutes.
Step 8
Serve hot on the table.
