Barley porridge will become especially tasty if cooked with meat and aromatic spices. This dish is very healthy and satisfying.

- - pearl barley 700 g;
- - meat 700 g;
- - fat 250 g;
- - onions 3 pcs.;
- - carrots 4 pcs.;
- - tomato paste 2 tbsp. spoons;
- - 4 garlic cloves;
- - ground hot chili pepper;
- - ground black pepper;
- - salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the pearl barley, dry, fry in a dry frying pan for 3-4 minutes. Wash the meat, dry it, cut into small cubes.
Step 2
Heat the fat in a cauldron or deep frying pan. Fry the pieces of meat until golden brown. Peel the onion, cut into half rings, add to the pan. Simmer for 5-6 minutes over medium heat.
Step 3
Peel the carrots, wash, cut into thin strips, add to the pan. Season with hot pepper, black pepper, peeled garlic cloves and tomato paste. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Pour 1 liter of hot water into the pan. Cook for 40 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the garlic from the pan, add the pearl barley, add a little water so that the cereal is completely covered. Bring to a boil, cover, cook for 25-30 minutes. Serve the prepared porridge with fresh herbs.
