Not everyone loves barley porridge. Some do not know how to cook deliciously, while others prefer to use barley only in pickle. There is a fairly simple recipe for the first porridge with meat, thanks to which you can easily prepare a wonderful and tasty dish in a pot.
It is necessary
- - 1 glass of pearl barley,
- - 400 grams of pork,
- - 1 large onion,
- - 1 carrot,
- - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil
- - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of tomato paste,
- - 5 glasses of water,
- - 1, 5 teaspoons of salt,
- - 1 teaspoon of dry spices.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the glass of pearl barley well. Then transfer the pearl barley to a saucepan, cover with 2 cups of water and put on medium heat. After boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, until water evaporates. You do not need to cover the pan with a lid during the cooking process.
Step 2
Wash the pork, pat dry with a paper towel, cut into medium pieces and fry in vegetable oil over moderate heat.
Step 3
Cut the peeled carrots and onion into cubes. Add vegetables to the pork skillet (after 10 minutes of frying) and reduce heat. As soon as the pork is browned, season with salt and pepper, stir.
Step 4
Place the sautéed pork and vegetables in a pot. Put the boiled pearl barley in the second layer.
Step 5
Dissolve the tomato paste in 3 glasses of water, pour the contents of the pot. Close the pot with a lid.
Step 6
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Cook the porridge in the oven for 60 minutes. Then remove the pot and mix the contents gently, cover and return to the oven for another 20 minutes. Serve the prepared porridge on the table in a pot.
