The history of muffins is rich and varied, this sweet dish appeared in ancient Rome, and then conquered all of Europe. Many recipes for muffins have been invented, and in the USA and Britain they are called muffins. They are prepared with any fillings; apple muffins are popular.

Step 1
It takes 90 minutes to cook apple muffins under the lemon zest. First, we pass the lemon through a meat grinder or three on a grater along with the zest. Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve, leave the margarine to melt a little, and cut it into small pieces. Wash and clean the apples, cut them into small pieces. Grease the baking dish with butter and put the apples on the bottom.
Step 2
Prepare the dough for apple muffins: break the eggs into a deep plate, add sugar and beat into a thick mixture. Then add the sifted flour, lay out the cottage cheese and margarine, mix everything well, add the soda and saffron slaked with vinegar. If you don't have saffron, you can use turmeric to give the cake a yellow color.

Put the dough in an even layer on top of the apples, prepare sprinkles for apple muffins. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly, and chop the nuts. Mix nuts, flour, cinnamon, sugar and butter, knead the dough to form small crumbs. Put the sprinkling on top of the dough, send the cake to the oven, preheated to 200 ° C, for 40 minutes.
