Kurnik is traditionally prepared with a filling filled with pancakes. The dough can be anything - unleavened, yeast, and so on. From it you need to roll out two cakes, each of which will be half a centimeter thick. The top cake should be made a little larger in size - it will have to cover the puff of puff filling. If you want to decorate the chicken on top, save some dough for that.

Kurnik fillings

Traditionally, the filling for such a pie is made up of chicken meat, buckwheat porridge, fried onions and minced eggs. The pie can be stuffed with meat or fish, mushrooms or vegetables, even berries, nuts and fruits. You can use spices and herbs - they give the kurnik a richer, brighter taste.

The specific combination of filling products will depend entirely on the culinary preference. Often, making a birthday cake is an experiment, but the result will be good if done correctly.

Assembling the chicken from layers

In preparation for assembling a multilayer pie, the baking sheet is covered with parchment, on which the first of the rolled cakes is placed. Then the baked pancake is laid, on which the first of the filling layers is arranged. Next, the filling is laid out in layers, each ingredient is interspersed with pancakes. On the last of the pancakes, put the second dough cake. Along the edges, the dough cakes are connected and carefully pinched.

The kurnik prepared in this way is decorated with dough figurines on top and the top is coated with a beaten egg. Then the cake is pierced in several places and placed in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Usually all the ingredients are placed in the cake ready-made or semi-ready for use. The pie can be considered ready when the dough is well browned. You can serve it on the table with a sauce - garlic, creamy, cheese, tomato or any other.

The simplest ways to cook kurnik

1. Pancake chicken turns out soft and juicy, baked quickly. Make the required number of pancakes and prepare several types of fillings. These can be pieces of boiled chicken breast mixed with fried onions; mushrooms, chopped with a knife or blender; boiled rice, mixed with carrot and onion fried; grated boiled eggs; sweet pepper, chopped into strips.

Next, a form is selected in which the pancakes will be laid, and greased with oil. Place the pancakes on the edges of the form so that they hang from the sides. In the middle, arrange the base for the cake. A little mayonnaise or creamy sauce is spread over the base pancake, the first layer of filling is laid, and covered with a pancake. The filling and sauce are applied again. This is repeated on until the pancakes run out. They also cover the cake on top, trying to make them hang over. All the top is coated with mayonnaise. A pancake pie is baked in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for a quarter of an hour. Then you can sprinkle the top with grated cheese with spices and heat in the oven for another 10 minutes. There is less fuss with such a cake than with the classic version, and the difference in taste is negligible.

2. An easy-to-prepare cake for busy women who decide to pamper their home with delicious. For the filling, take 400 g of chicken fillet and cut into cubes. Add chopped boiled egg, herbs, salt. Make mashed potatoes by combining three mashed potatoes, a spoonful of butter, and a raw egg.

Divide a kilogram of yeast dough in half and roll it into layers. Place the first on a greased baking sheet. Put the prepared minced meat on the base, leave a little space around the edges and put mashed potatoes on it, it is better to use a pastry bag. Cover the cake with a second layer, pinch the edges, brush the top with an egg. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees, cooking time - 25 minutes.

3. Kurnik with fish made from sour cream dough is similar to a one-layer closed pie and is very easy to prepare. For the test, you need 300 g of sour cream, 3 glasses of flour, a teaspoon of soda, slaked vinegar, salt. Combine the ingredients and knead the dough, cover it with a towel and let stand for 20-30 minutes. During this period of time, quickly cut into cubes a pound of fish fillets, chop four medium-sized potatoes into plates, cut two onions in half rings. Season the filling with salt and pepper.

Now put baking paper on the bottom of the mold, grease it with oil and roll out a cake from two-thirds of the prepared dough on it. Its diameter should be slightly larger than the shape. Put the filling of potatoes and fish on the base, make a second cake from the rest of the dough, cover the cake and pinch the dough around the edges. A small hole must be made in the upper part so that steam can escape. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees. It takes about 45 minutes to bake, and is eaten even faster.
