It would seem that boiling an egg will not be difficult. However, it is not always possible to achieve the desired result. Sometimes it happens that I wanted soft-boiled, but it turned out to be hard-boiled, or I needed a boiled egg, but the yolk was digested and lost its color. In order not to get unexpected results, you need to know how to boil eggs.
How to cook properly
Put the eggs in a pot of water, turn on the stove, a little time - and you're done. As it turned out, there are some nuances here as well. To get the desired result, you need to know a few simple rules. Firstly, you cannot boil the eggs cold, that is, immediately after taking them out of the refrigerator. If you put a cold egg in hot water, it will most likely burst treacherously.
Secondly, pay attention to the expiration date. If not more than four days have passed since the date of packaging, boil the eggs three minutes longer.
Third, during cooking, air can collect from the blunt end. If a lot of air is collected, the eggs may crack. To avoid this effect, pierce each egg with a blunt end.
Soft-boiled egg (method 1):
Pour boiling water into a small bowl. Dip the eggs one at a time using a tablespoon. Try to always use a timer to avoid overcooking or undercooking your eggs. Set it for a minute and simmer in boiling water. Then remove the dishes from the stove, close the lid and leave for 6 minutes for the yolk to set and the white to remain liquid. If the preference is given to the completely frozen yolk, then hold them under the lid for another minute.
Soft-boiled egg (method 2):
Place the eggs in a saucepan, cover with water and place on the stove. Make the flame initially large and reduce it only after boiling. To make the egg semi-liquid, boil it for 3 minutes. In order for only the white to grab, and the yolk to remain in a liquid state - 4 minutes.
Hard boiled egg
Place the eggs in a saucepan and pour in cold water so that it covers about a centimeter. Once the water boils, set the timer for 6 minutes if you prefer the yolk to remain a little thin. If you want the egg to turn out completely cool, then set the timer for 7 minutes. After boiling, soak the eggs under running water for about a minute, and then leave them in cold water for another 2 minutes to allow them to cool completely.
Egg in a bag
Place the eggs in cold water, let it boil and boil for another 4 minutes. The second option is to put the eggs in boiling water, cook for a minute, turn off the heat and soak in the water for another 7 minutes.
Which eggs are healthier
It is healthier to eat soft-boiled eggs. However, more and more often you can hear recommendations that you need to boil and fry eggs well, since they contain the causative agents of salmonellosis.
How to clean properly
Peeling an egg so that it remains beautiful may not always work out either. And there are secrets here. Before cleaning, the shell should be "cracked" over the entire surface, so it will become much easier to clean. It is necessary to start cleaning from the large end and continue under running cold water so that all the shells are washed off during the cleaning process.
Remember that if you boil eggs that were packaged only 4-5 days ago, be prepared for the fact that they will be poorly cleaned.
After cleaning, place the eggs under running water, as to avoid darkening of the yolk, they must then cool completely.
Eggs will also be quite easy to peel if, after boiling, they are put in cold water for a few minutes right in the shell. Then the shell will move away from the protein much easier.
Whichever cooking method is preferable, you should always pay attention to how the final dish looks like. Take advantage of the tips and bon appetit!
