This recipe for potato sausages, which resemble similar meat sausages in appearance, was invented by the inhabitants of Ukraine. The recipe is not very difficult to prepare, and the result is worth trying to cook them at least once.

It is necessary

  • - 950 g of potatoes;
  • - 280 g of lard;
  • - 345 g of onions;
  • - 55 g semolina;
  • - 1 egg;
  • - 2, 6 m of the intestine;
  • - 75 ml of vegetable oil;
  • - salt pepper.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the intestines thoroughly, put in water with the addition of vinegar for 50 minutes and then rinse very well again.

Step 2

Cut the lard into small pieces, put in a preheated pan and cook until all the fat is melted out of it. Then remove the greaves from the pan.

Step 3

Peel the onion and cut into very thin rings. Then put it in a skillet with fat and fry until a beautiful golden color is obtained.

Step 4

Greaves that have been set aside must be chopped and added to the chopped onion. Wash, peel and grate the potatoes.

Step 5

Stir the grated potatoes with salt and pepper, and then add semolina, egg and onion with cracklings. Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 6

Take an ordinary plastic bottle, cut off its neck so that you get a funnel, and tie the prepared intestine to its neck.

Step 7

Then put the prepared minced meat in the funnel and start filling the intestine with it, as a result, it should be completely filled with it. Pierce the intestine in several places with a needle to avoid breaking it during cooking.

Step 8

Put the resulting sausage in a deep oiled cast-iron saucepan and bake in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes. During cooking, it is necessary to water the sausage with the juice released from it.

Step 9

It is better to serve potato sausage hot with herbs and vegetables.
