Pie with onion filling turns out to be very tasty and unusual due to the addition of poppy seeds. This dish requires simple ingredients and a little time, so the recipe can be used even by those who do not have perfect culinary skills.
It is necessary
- Ingredients for a split mold with a diameter of about 24 centimeters:
- - flour - 400 g;
- - butter - 200 g;
- - milk - 150 ml;
- - 2 eggs and additionally 2 yolks;
- - corn starch - 2 tablespoons;
- - a teaspoon of sugar;
- - a tablespoon of baking powder;
- - a pinch of salt.
- For filling:
- - 4 medium-sized onions;
- - butter - 100 g;
- - 3 eggs;
- - fat sour cream - 200 g;
- - poppy seeds - 3 heaped spoons;
- - sweet paprika - 1 spoon;
- - salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the cooled butter into small pieces. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and starch. Add pieces of butter and sugar, chop to make a crumb, transfer to a large cup.
Step 2
Beat the eggs with the yolks, pour in the milk and beat the ingredients again. Pour the prepared mixture into a bowl of flour and butter, knead the sticky dough, put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Fill the poppy with boiling water for 10 minutes, then put it on a sieve so that the water is glass.
Step 4
Peel the onion and cut into rings, then cut the rings into 4 pieces. Melt the butter, fry the onion over low heat for 20 minutes so that it turns golden brown, but does not burn. In the middle of cooking, add poppy seeds to the onion, and 2 minutes before cooking, add paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5
Beat eggs with sour cream, salt and pepper to taste. We spread the dough in a split form, pre-greased with oil. We level the dough to get neat and beautiful sides, lay out the onion filling, fill it with a mixture of eggs and sour cream on top. We send the form to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40 minutes. Allow the pie to cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
