Bruschetta is a kind of sandwich originally from sultry Italy. This Mediterranean appetizer is quite simple to prepare and, meanwhile, looks very original. Moreover, it does not require exotic products. Bruschetta can have any filling, but it is better to stop at the very Italian version: cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.

It is necessary

  • - baguette;
  • - 100 g cherry tomatoes;
  • - onion;
  • - 100 g mozzarella;
  • - ground black pepper and salt to taste;
  • - 100 g tomato paste.

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Perhaps the most important thing about bruschetta is bread. It should certainly be crispy and airy. An Italian ciabatta is ideal, but a baguette is also fine. Cut the fresh baguette diagonally into circles that shouldn't be more than a centimeter thick. Place the bread on a baking sheet and dry a little in the oven. Beforehand, pieces of baguette can be greased with olive oil.

Step 2

Chop the onions into thin enough half rings. Cut the mozzarella cheese and cherry tomatoes into small cubes. In addition, pickled artichokes can be added to the bruschetta filling, but this is not for everybody's taste. All ingredients must be combined in a bowl.

Step 3

Brush each half of the baguette with tomato paste. Instead, you can safely use fresh mashed tomatoes.

Step 4

Place the chopped onion, chopped cherry and mozzarella on the sliced baguette, greased with tomato paste. Do not forget to salt and pepper everything.

Step 5

Send the baguettes to the oven. The dish should be baked in it for about 10 minutes. During this time, the cheese should only slightly melt. From above, the finished bruschetta can be decorated with basil leaves. Serve it with a salad or as a stand-alone snack before lunch to increase your appetite. At home, this dish is served only warm.
