Italian cuisine is incredibly popular all over the world. Everything is explained by the fact that they are not only very tasty, but also usually very easy to prepare. A striking example of this is the famous Italian snacks, bruschetta and crostini.

Bruschetta is a kind of sandwich based on a slice of bread that is pre-fried in a pan or oven. Bruschetta filling can be vegetables, cheese, sausages, ham and fresh herbs.

Crostini is a small piece of bread stuffed with a filling that must remain juicy. Usually these are traditional Italian vegetables - tomatoes and bell peppers.

Crostini with tomatoes and bell peppers

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of white bread;
  • 200 g of fleshy tomatoes;
  • 200 g sweet bell pepper;
  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of butter;
  • dried italian herbs;
  • salt, freshly ground pepper;
  • vegetable oil.

Preparation:

1. Rinse and dry the vegetables thoroughly, remove the stalk from tomatoes, remove seeds and white partitions from peppers. Cut vegetables into small cubes and sauté in a skillet in vegetable oil.

2. Add dried Italian herbs, freshly ground black pepper and a little salt to taste, stir and simmer the vegetables until soft, but should retain a light crunch. Add butter. Remove the skillet from heat and let the filling cool slightly.

3. Dry the slices of white bread on a baking sheet in a preheated oven for a few minutes or in a toaster. Place vegetables on each piece of bread, garnish with a slice of curd cheese and a leaf of basil if desired. Serve immediately.

Bruschetta with tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of baguette or ciabatta
  • 2 large meaty tomatoes;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 4 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of balsamic vinegar;
  • 1 teaspoon of dried herbs mixture;
  • salt pepper;
  • greens.

Preparation:

1. Place the slices of bread in a dry (oil-free) skillet and brown them on both sides until they become crispy. You can also do this in a toaster. Cut the garlic cloves in half and grate the surface of the bread.

2. Rinse tomatoes, cut into cubes, add seasonings, dried herbs, pour in vinegar and olive oil. Place the filling immediately on warm bread, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs, garnish with basil leaves and serve.

Bruschetta with salami and cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 baguette;
  • 15-20 thin slices of salami;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • grated cheese;
  • 1 can of tomato sauce;
  • 1/4 teaspoon of chopped garlic, dried basil and oregano;
  • salt, freshly ground pepper.

Preparation:

1. Cut the baguette into round slices. In a deep skillet, stir in the tomato sauce, minced garlic, dried basil, oregano, black pepper and a little salt. Heat the mixture over low heat, not boiling.

2. Brown the baguette slices in a preheated oven for a minute until crisp. Cut a clove of garlic in half and grate each piece of bread. Place the toast back on the baking sheet and put it in the oven for a couple more minutes - the bread should brown.

3. Brush each baguette slice with tomato sauce, sprinkle with grated hard cheese and add thin circles of salami. Place in a hot oven to melt the cheese.
