Chicken liver is rich in vitamins and is very beneficial for the growing body. However, not all children like the taste of liver. In this case, potato casserole with chicken liver comes to the rescue.
It is necessary
-
- 400 g chicken liver
- 600 g potatoes
- 1 large onion
- 1 medium carrot
- grated cheese
- 100 ml milk
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water. Drain, mash the potatoes and cover with hot milk. Stir until puree, one should not be too runny.
Step 2
Grate the carrots on a medium grater. Cut the onion into half rings and fry with the carrots in vegetable oil until soft.
Step 3
Rinse the chicken liver, peel it off and cut into small pieces (or strips). You can pass it through a meat grinder. Add the liver to the sautéed vegetables and cook a little until it bleeds. Do not keep the liver in the pan for more than 3 minutes or it will dry out.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Brush a baking dish with vegetable oil. Place some of the mashed potatoes in the first layer. The second layer is liver and vegetables. Place the rest of the mashed potatoes in a third layer.
Step 5
Grate the cheese on a medium grater and mix with mayonnaise. You can add thyme, rosemary, nutmeg, or chopped herbs to this mixture if you like. Place the cheese mixture over the potatoes and bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
Step 6
Serve warm, cut into portions. A vegetable salad is suitable as a side dish.
