Finnish bread “Reykäleipä” began to be made a long time ago. Its appearance differs from any other not because of its beauty, but because of its simplicity. The thing is that Reykäleipä was rarely cooked, which is why the Finnish people procured large quantities of bread and hung it from the ceiling for convenience. I suggest you bake this dish too.
It is necessary
- - milk - 200 ml;
- - wheat flour - 500 g;
- - rye flour - 200 g;
- - vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;
- - yeast - 1, 5 teaspoon;
- - salt - 1 teaspoon.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat until warm. Then add all the wheat flour to it, as well as 50 grams of rye flour. Thus, you should have a mixture that resembles a liquid gruel in its consistency. Covering this mass with a special cling film, leave it to stand at room temperature for 8 hours.
Step 2
After the expiration of time, foam formed on the dough and it increased in volume - this means that it is ready. Put the remnants of rye flour on it, as well as salt. After mixing everything thoroughly, knead a rather smooth and elastic dough - it should not stick to your palms.
Step 3
Cut the finished dough into 2 equal-sized pieces. Then shape each so that a cake forms.
Step 4
Make a hole in the center of the cakes. Then stick your finger in it and scroll the future Finnish bread Reykäleipä on it. It is more convenient to do this procedure by smearing your hands with vegetable oil. Thus, the hole will become larger and smoother than it was before.
Step 5
Place the cakes on a baking sheet with baking paper at some distance from each other. After covering them with a towel, leave them at room temperature for about 60 minutes - they should be separated.
Step 6
After preheating the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees, send the infused dough cakes to bake in it for 20-25 minutes. Finnish bread Reykäleipä is ready!
