Do you like cheese dishes? Then prepare thyropite. This is a puff pastry pie with cheese filling that is very popular in Greece. Having made it, you will not regret the time spent.
It is necessary
- - feta cheese - 150 g;
- - Parmesan cheese - 100 g;
- - parsley;
- - dill;
- - egg - 1 piece;
- - milk - 1-2 tablespoons;
- - butter - 50 g;
- - puff pastry - 600 g;
- - salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Transfer the cream cheese to a separate cup and mash until smooth with a fork. Grind the Parmesan by grating. If not, you can use any other hard cheese.
Step 2
Combine cream cheese with chopped hard cheese. Also add finely chopped parsley, one egg and milk there. If the latter is not there, then sour cream will be the best substitute. Mix everything thoroughly. Thus, the filling for the tyropite is ready.
Step 3
Now cut the puff pastry into exactly 2 pieces. Roll out one of them with a rolling pin and place in a baking dish or baking sheet. Just do not forget to grease this dish with pre-melted butter first.
Step 4
Lubricate the laid layer with melted butter, then place the resulting cheese mass on it, carefully distributing it over the entire surface. Roll the remaining piece of dough, like the previous one, to the exact same size and cover the filling with it. Fix the edges and apply oil to the surface of the dish.
Step 5
Take a knife and use it to make cuts in the cake. If you want the dish to be open, then cut through the entire top layer.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees. Send the dish into it for about half an hour. Garnish with fresh dill and olives if desired. Tiropita is ready!
