    • For batter:
    • flour - 1/2 cup
    • light beer - 1/2 cup
    • egg - 1 pc.
    • salt to taste
    • For breading:
    • coconut flakes - 200 g
    • For deep fat:
    • refined vegetable oil

Step 1

Thaw the tiger prawns and peel them. To do this, break off the head, cut the shell along the back with scissors and carefully remove the plates one by one in the direction from the head to the tail. Leave the ponytail. Remove the intestinal vein (dark line on the back side). Dry with a napkin.

Step 2

Prepare the batter. Whisk the egg and beer in a bowl. If there is no whisk, use an ordinary fork. While continuing to beat, gradually add flour and salt. You should get a light homogeneous dough with the consistency of liquid sour cream. To check the quality of the batter, dip a tablespoon in it. If the coating is even and the metal does not show through the dough, the consistency is correct.

Place the coconut flakes in a separate bowl. Dip the prepared shrimp in batter, and then roll in the coconut. Place in a single layer on a cutting board or large platter and refrigerate for half an hour. This is necessary for better adhesion of the batter.

Pour the vegetable oil into a saucepan and heat it up. There should be a lot of oil so that the shrimp can swim in it without touching the bottom. Remove the breaded food from the refrigerator and gently dip it into the deep fat. Fry the shrimp until they come up and have a delicious golden crust (about 3 to 4 minutes).

Remove the fried tiger prawns with a slotted spoon and place on a folded paper towel or napkin to dry off excess oil. Serve with lemon, fresh herbs, lettuce.
