Fans of German cuisine can try the unusual meat goulash with bread meatballs. This dish is traditionally served in Munich restaurants during the Oktoberfest.

- For meatballs (Semmelknödel):
- - 6 hot dog buns (no seeds);
- - half an onion;
- - large egg;
- - vegetable oil;
- - 50 gr. butter;
- - milk;
- - parsley, nutmeg, pepper and salt.
- For goulash:
- - 400 gr. beef;
- - half an onion;
- - a clove of garlic;
- - 2 large potatoes;
- - a small carrot;
- - a teaspoon of ground red pepper;
- - a spoonful of flour;
- - some parsley and thyme;
- - a spoonful of butter or vegetable oil;
- - pepper and salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the hot dog buns into cubes and place in a large bowl. Pour in some olive oil and mix the bread thoroughly. Fry chopped onion with parsley in butter and transfer to a bowl of bread. Add the egg, salt, pepper and season with a pinch of thyme. Stir the mass, if necessary, pour in a little milk and leave for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Boil salted water in a large saucepan. We make meatballs from the bread mass and boil them for 20 minutes. We take out with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Step 3
Heat butter or vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. We spread the beef cut into small pieces, fry it until golden brown. Chop the onion and garlic, add to the meat. Pour pepper and flour into the pan, stir without stopping for 2-3 minutes. Fill the meat with water, let it boil. At this time, cut the carrots and potatoes into cubes, add them to the meat after boiling for 10 minutes. Salt, pepper, season with parsley and thyme to taste. Reduce heat to low, cover goulash and cook for 45 minutes.

Before serving, heat some meatballs in the oven and serve with hot goulash.
