It is necessary

  • For 15-20 pieces:
  • For the test:
  • - 1, 5 glasses of flour;
  • - 75-90 g of honey;
  • - 60-75 g of sugar;
  • - 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda;
  • - zest from 1/4 lemon;
  • - 50 g butter;
  • - vegetable oil;
  • For glaze:
  • - 1-1.5 cups of powdered sugar;
  • - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the dough. Combine sugar and honey, add 1/4 cup water, stir and bring to a boil. Pour flour into hot syrup, stir quickly to get a thick mass.

Step 2

Remove from heat and let cool. Next, put softened butter in the honey mixture. Mix baking soda with 1 tablespoon of flour and add to the dough, add grated lemon zest.

Step 3

Knead everything well. The dough should be soft. Roll the gingerbread dough into a 1 cm thick layer, cut out butterflies from it and place them on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil.

Step 4

Bake the gingerbread cookies in an oven heated to 180 ° C for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

Step 5

Make the frosting. Pour the icing sugar into a small saucepan or cup, add lemon juice (if desired, you can substitute orange juice for the juice), stir. You should get a thick mass.

Step 6

Divide it into several parts. The amount depends on how many food colors you will be using.

Step 7

Stir in paint of a certain color into each portion and quickly paint the butterflies. The glaze dries very quickly, so you need to work actively with it.

Step 8

First, cover the silhouette of the butterflies completely and let the frosting dry. Then apply the outline and pattern of your choice.
