Step 1

Lentils with paprika are a red hot and sweet dish, suitable both as a side dish and as an independent hearty dish. Boil 250 g of red lentils without soaking them, just rinse them under running water. Place the cereal in a saucepan, pour 500 ml of cold water and lightly salt it. Bring to a simmer over high heat, then reduce heat, cover the pan and cook the lentils for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Plain boiled lentils work well as a simple side dish, but for a delicious, gourmet meal, follow step 2.

Prepare the vegetables: finely chop the garlic cloves and leeks. Peel paprika and chili peppers from seeds and cut into thin long strips. Melt 2 tablespoons of ghee (Indian ghee) in a skillet, lightly fry the vegetables in it. While stirring, generously sprinkle the curry over the vegetables.
