White cabbage is very useful for our body. In addition to valuable protein, it contains many vitamins and fiber, which improves intestinal motor function and helps to eliminate cholesterol from the body.
To prepare stewed cabbage, we need:
- 1 kg of white cabbage,
- 500 gr. pork with bone
- black peppercorns,
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of sugar
- 400 gr. red tomatoes or 100 gr. sauce,
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of wheat flour,
- 50 gr. melted fat
- dill and parsley,
- salt,
- Bay leaf.
Cooking method
We take a fork of cabbage, wash it, clean it from external damaged and rotten leaves and crumb it. Then we take the meat, rinse it thoroughly, put it in a saucepan, fill it with two mugs of water and bring to a boil. Now add the chopped cabbage to the meat and cook for another 20 minutes without closing the lid. Then add seasonings and spices, close the lid and steam for another 30 minutes.
Take the tomatoes, wash them, scald them with boiling water, carefully peel them off, cut them into slices and simmer them separately in their own juice. When the cabbage is half cooked, rub the tomatoes and combine them with the meat and cabbage. We make a toasted dressing from fat and flour, pour it into cabbage with meat and, while stirring, boil a little. The taste of the cabbage will improve when it has stood for half an hour before serving.
We lay out the finished cabbage on plates, decorate with herbs and serve.
