For some, quesadillas are an exotic dish, for others - an ordinary flatbread with an acceptable filling. In any case, the Mexican dish is worth trying, it is appropriate to serve it at any time.

It is necessary

  • - premium flour - 3 glasses;
  • - drinking water - 1 glass;
  • - vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;
  • - onions - 2 pcs.;
  • - tomatoes - 2 pcs.;
  • - pepper - 2 pcs.;
  • - cream - up to 100 ml;
  • - chicken fillet - 0.5 kg;
  • - hard cheese - 100 g;
  • - salt, spices - optional.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the dough, it will be bland. For a more pliable dough, heat the kneading water slightly. Combine flour and salt water, sifted twice, in a bowl. Do not forget to add one tablespoon of vegetable oil with water. Remember the dough as on dumplings. Cover the semi-finished product, leave to rest for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2

Prepare the filling. Wash the fillet, pat dry with a kitchen towel. Cut the fillets into small pieces. Rinse the peppers, remove the inner partitions and seeds, cut one into large cubes. Heat the pan, put chicken pieces on a dry surface. Add pre-cooked onions. It must be peeled and cut into small cubes. Put the pepper, stir. Stew food in your own juice, adding your favorite spices and salt at the end of cooking.

Chop the second pepper finely, it is necessary for making the sauce. Peel the tomatoes, cut into pieces. Chop the second onion, stew all the products in a pan with the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil. When the tomatoes are mashed, add salt, pepper and cream to the sauce. Wait for the sauce to thicken, remove from heat.

Step 4

Form the dough into thin cakes. Sprinkle semi-finished products with flour so that they do not stick to your hands and table. Put the filling on half of the workpiece, stepping back about one centimeter from the edge. Top with sauce, cover with grated cheese. Cover the filling with the other free side of the flatbread. Lay out the blanks on the sheet.

Step 5

Place a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake the dish for 7-8 minutes, until a beautiful crust forms. Serve the quesadillas with tomato sauce or sour cream.
