It is necessary
- - 450 g flour;
- - 400 ml of milk;
- - 60 g butter;
- - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of lemon juice;
- - 2 tsp baking powder;
- - 1 teaspoon of salt;
- - milk for glazing.
- For serving:
- - butter, any jam, whipped cream.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on to preheat the oven to the 230 degree mark. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Put chunks of chilled butter in the flour, stir with your hands to get a homogeneous crumb-like mass.
Step 2
Mix milk with lemon juice, leave for a couple of minutes at room temperature, then add dry flour mixture and quickly knead a homogeneous dough without beating it too much.
Step 3
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 2.5 cm. Cut 12 circles from the dough with a diameter of about 5 cm. Put the circles on a baking sheet, which you also sprinkle with flour. Connect the remaining pieces of dough, roll out and cut out the circles again. Brush all circles on the baking sheet with a little milk.
Step 4
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the scones for about 20 minutes. Then take out the baking sheet, transfer the scones to a dry, clean towel, wrap it in it.
Step 5
After 5-10 minutes, cut the lush scones in half, coat them with butter, serve with any jam or jam. Scones with butter and jam can also be served with whipped cream.
