I offer you an original meat sauce to replace regular ketchup. Guests will certainly ask for a recipe!
It is necessary
- For 12 servings:
- - 4 tablespoons ground cumin;
- - 2 glasses of ketchup;
- - 1.5 cups brown sugar;
- - 1 glass of espresso;
- - 100 g shallots;
- - 4 tablespoons ground chili;
- - 1 glass of sweet chili sauce;
- - 4 tablespoons soy sauce;
- - 2 tsp Tabasco;
- - 4 cloves of garlic;
- - 1 glass of apple cider vinegar.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour the ketchup, espresso, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, tabasco, and apple cider vinegar into a large saucepan and stir until smooth. Add ground cumin (it is better to grind just before cooking for more flavor), sugar, ground chili, mix.
Step 2
Chop the shallots into small cubes with a knife. You should get about a glass of chopped onion. Chop the garlic finely or finely or grate it on a fine grater (you can also just squeeze it out). Send to a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients and put on high heat.
Step 3
Wait for the mixture to boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. By the end of this time, the sauce should be thick.
Step 4
Pour it into a separate bowl and leave to cool, and then infuse for a couple of hours at room temperature. Serve with meat or vegetables baked on a fire!
