Meatballs are meat balls no larger than a walnut. They are prepared from any kind of meat and must be breaded in flour. Despite the fact that meatballs are the most common dish for many nationalities of the world, there are many different recipes for their preparation. Often they add rice, bread, bread crumbs, cabbage, onions, various greens and even eggs. The meatballs are fried, baked, steamed and stewed in a special sauce.

Step 1
First, prepare a special meatball sauce. Take a deep skillet and mix the flour and butter in it. Then add salt and gradually cover everything with hot milk. Stir well, bring to a boil and simmer for three to four minutes over low heat. Remember to stir occasionally.

Now prepare the minced meat for the meatballs. Peel the onion, then take the meat and cut it into pieces. Pass it through a meat grinder along with onions and bread. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix the minced meat well. Then, with wet hands, form balls the size of a small apple out of it.

After that, remove the bad leaves from the cabbage and wash it in cold running water. Then cut into large lobes vertically so that a part of the stump remains in each lobule.

Pour water into a saucepan, salt and put it on fire. Put cabbage in boiling salted water, cover and bring to a boil. After it boils, remove the lid for a few minutes, then cover again and cook until tender until tender.

Next, put the cabbage in a colander, put a plate on it and press down with oppression. This is necessary so that all excess water escapes from the cabbage. Then leave it on for a while and let it dry well.

After that, take a deep frying pan, add softened butter to it and put the cabbage. Spread all the raw meatballs on top of the cabbage, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs and pour over the sauce.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Now sprinkle the meatballs with sauce, sprinkle with breadcrumbs mixed with grated cheese.

Place the skillet in a preheated oven. When the sauce is browned on top, immediately remove the dish from the oven and serve hot. The dish turns out to be very tasty.
