Kiwi is a funny hairy fruit native to Asia. Due to its origin and the shape of the fruit, it is also called the "Chinese gooseberry". In addition to the original taste and color of the pulp, its main advantage is the record content of vitamin C.
It is necessary
- - kiwi fruits;
- - refrigerator;
- - a clean paper bag or food parchment;
- - banana.
Instructions
Step 1
You can only store fresh, unspoiled fruits. If you are suspicious of a specimen (stains, dents, etc.), put it separately. The ripe kiwi fruit has a uniform color, with a light pressure with your finger, a small dent should remain. The skin should not look wrinkled.
Step 2
Ripe kiwi fruits can be stored for 3-5 days at room temperature, but like any other fruit they need to be protected from direct sunlight. Move them to a shady, cool place.
Step 3
If you plan on storing fruit for longer than a week, refrigerate it. Take a clean paper bag and carefully fold the kiwi into it, with more ripe, softer fruits on top. Wrap the bag loosely and place it in the fruit drawer. Make sure to inspect it once a day - if any fruit starts to deteriorate, wrinkles or cracks, immediately remove it from the fruit bag.
Step 4
If you don't have a paper bag at hand, you can easily replace it with edible paper (for example, parchment for baking). Do not wrap the bag too tightly, otherwise the kiwifruit can wrinkle, or you can use a perforated plastic bag for storage.
Step 5
Kiwi is an exotic fruit for Russia, subject to long-term transportation. To prevent the fruit from spoiling during the journey, they are usually picked a little unripe. During transportation, they, in most cases, ripen. But if you are "lucky" and you bought unripe kiwi, put a banana or apple in a bag where they will be stored. So the kiwis will quickly reach the desired condition.
