The chicken egg, due to its nutritional quality, is considered one of the healthiest foods. No balanced diet is complete without eggs, because they are very rich in vitamins (A, D, E, group B) and minerals, as well as protein, which is almost 100% absorbed by the human body. Lecithin and iron contained in eggs help to improve blood formation.

Everyone knows that village eggs are tastier and healthier than those obtained in industrial conditions. Therefore, many people, when traveling out of town, buy a large number of eggs at once. In the realities of modern life, not everyone can boast of a large refrigerator, which can easily fit four or more dozen eggs. And then the question arises - how to store them in order to avoid rotting and subsequent poisoning?

Egg white is the only food that contains only proteins. There are no fats or carbohydrates in it.

Egg storage

Storing eggs without refrigeration has been and continues to be practiced in villages today: eggs are kept in dark, cool places. Of course, it is also possible to store eggs outside the refrigerator within the apartment, but it is not recommended to do this for more than 1 week. If the eggs are rustic, then you can still leave them at room temperature for 14 days, but no more. And if you bought a large number of eggs in the store (for example, before Easter), then do it no earlier than 5-6 days before the expected date of use.

If you still want to keep chicken eggs for longer than the specified period, then you should carefully wipe them with a damp cloth to remove all dirt. Then you need to take a dry napkin, moisten it in any of the vegetable oils and grease each egg. This creates an oily film on the surface to protect the eggs. Then you need to pack each in paper or newspaper and store in a dark, dry and cool place, preferably well-ventilated. It is important not to allow eggs to cool down to sub-zero temperatures. Fresh eggs can remain in this form for up to 2 months.

People with high cholesterol should limit the consumption of eggs.

For lovers of raw eggs

Eggs should always be rinsed with hot water before eating. This helps to clear the shell of bacteria and prevent them from getting inside. And those who like to consume a raw product after washing should pour boiling water over the egg once to eliminate the risk of getting salmonellosis.
