Rice is the basis of most dishes of Japanese cuisine, which has gained great popularity in our country. Many women began to cook rolls and sushi at home, but most have a question about how to cook rice correctly so that they turn out beautiful and tasty.
Instructions
Step 1
To make the rolls and sushi strong and tasty, the rice must be sticky. And in order to cook it correctly, you should choose a good cereal in the store.
Step 2
To choose quality rice for your rolls, it is best to go to a store that specializes in selling products for Japanese cuisine or to a large supermarket and buy special rice there. If you haven't found a cereal perfect for making sushi, don't be discouraged and get regular coarse rice. When cooked properly, it can also make great rolls and sushi.
Step 3
Also buy a special sauce for cooking rice. It should contain ingredients such as rice vinegar, mirin, salt, kombu seaweed. It will give your rice a special flavor, and will also make it easier to prepare the rolls if you wet your fingers in it while working.
Step 4
When the rice is selected, it remains to learn how to cook it correctly for the subsequent production of rolls and sushi. This should be done in a saucepan with a closed lid in a little water without adding salt or other seasonings.
Step 5
Before cooking rice, rinse it in running water using a fine colander or sieve. The water that flows down from pure rice should not have a whitish tint. After rinsing, leave the product to dry for 20-30 minutes.
Step 6
Prepare a deep saucepan, put the rice and cover it with water per glass of rice (about 200 g), slightly more than a glass of water (about 300 ml). The water should completely cover the cereal in the pan and go up to about one-fifth of the amount of rice poured in.
Step 7
To properly cook sushi rice, take care to choose a suitable saucepan - it should be less than half full. It is desirable that its bottom is thick enough so that the product does not burn during cooking.
Step 8
Prepare the rice for the rolls in the following sequence.
Step 9
Place a saucepan of rice over medium heat and cover with a lid. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes until water is completely absorbed.
Step 10
In order for the rice for sushi and rolls to cook properly, do not open the lid in any case, otherwise the rice will be tough due to heat loss. After turning off the stove, keep the pan closed for 10-15 minutes.
Step 11
Add 30 ml of rice vinegar to boiled rice, mix well with a wooden spatula.
Step 12
As you can see, cooking rice for rolls and sushi is quite simple. Cool it down to room temperature and cook your favorite meals.
