The simplest, most appetizing and healthy dish from childhood is a cottage cheese-semolina casserole. Who does not remember how delicious it was with sour cream, chocolate syrup, jam, and just like that - with hot tea or fresh milk? Let's reproduce the recipe for this simple but delicious dish. And for a change, let's add apples to it.

It is necessary

    • 400 grams of cottage cheese;
    • 3 tablespoons of sugar;
    • 0.5 teaspoon of baking soda;
    • a pinch of salt;
    • 1 chicken egg;
    • 1 bag of vanilla sugar;
    • ½ cup (approximately 120 milliliters) semolina
    • 2-3 medium apples;
    • 2 teaspoons sour cream.

Instructions

Step 1

Fill the semolina with warm (about 33-35 degrees) water so that the water level is about 1 finger above the level of the cereal. Leave the semolina to swell for 2 hours.

Step 2

While the semolina swells, rub the cottage cheese through a sieve. This procedure will make the casserole more fluffy. If you are too lazy to mess with the sieve, you can knead the cottage cheese with a crush.

Step 3

After the cottage cheese is mashed, add sugar (regular and vanilla), salt and rub the mixture thoroughly.

Step 4

Beat the egg lightly with a fork and pour into the curd / sugar mixture. Then add swollen semolina to it (the remaining liquid that has not been absorbed into the cereal must be drained) and soda, slaked with boiling water. It is simple to extinguish soda: put the required amount of soda in a cup, pour in 1 teaspoon of boiling water and wait for the reaction to end. The slaked soda is ready. It will add softness and fluffiness to the casserole.

Step 5

Peel apples from cores and peels, cut into thin strips - "strips". Then stir them into the casserole dough. By the way, if you don't like apples, you can replace them with steamed dried fruits (dried apricots, raisins, kumquat) or even ordinary carrots.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 180-200 degrees. Place the casserole in a greased or lined baking dish and place in the oven. The baking time is 50-60 minutes. After 20-30 minutes after the start of baking, remove the casserole from the oven and brush the top with sour cream. Sour cream forms a golden crust on the surface of the product. Then return the casserole to the oven and bake for another half hour.

Step 7

Sprinkle the finished casserole with powdered sugar, cut and serve warm. Each piece can be sprinkled with syrup, jam, honey, sweet sauce, condensed milk or just sour cream. Cottage cheese and semolina casserole is a great light dish, perfect for breakfast or dinner.
