It is necessary
- - cranberries - 200 g;
- - sugar - 5 tbsp. l.;
- - starch - 1, 5 tbsp. l.;
- - water;
- - spices - optional.
Instructions
Step 1
You can make cranberry jelly both from fresh berries in the summer season, as well as from frozen ones. By adding various ingredients to this drink, you can vary the taste and aroma of the jelly.
Step 2
Sort frozen or fresh berries, rinse under running water. Frozen berries do not need to be completely defrosted before chopping in a blender. Grind the cranberries with a pusher or blender.
Step 3
Add sugar and any other additives to the resulting cranberry mass. Keep in mind that the amount of sugar will directly depend on the maturity and acidity of the cranberries. The following ingredients can be used for flavoring: vanilla, pink pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, citrus. You can also add natural syrups and honey to the jelly.
Step 4
Pour boiling water into the cranberry mass and let it stand for 15-20 minutes, then strain with a strainer so that the berry seeds do not get into the jelly. Place the cranberry water in a small saucepan on the stove top. At the moment when the fruit drink starts to boil, you should add starch water.
Step 5
In the meantime, prepare the starch water. Dissolve the starch in cold water, stir so that there are no lumps.
Step 6
Pour the starch water into boiling cranberry water in a thin stream, stirring constantly. Make a small fire and cook the jelly until thick. Pour hot jelly into glasses, rosettes or mugs. To prevent a film from forming on the surface of the cranberry jelly, sprinkle sugar on top.
Step 7
Cranberry jelly can be served as a standalone drink, as well as used for desserts, baked goods, casseroles, as a gravy for pancakes or pancakes.
