Kvass from oats, unfortunately, has now lost its relevance and popularity and, by the way, very much in vain. In Russia, this drink was loved not only for its amazing taste and ability to cope with thirst, but also for its enormous benefits for the body.

  • - oats - 2 cups;
  • - boiled water - 4 glasses;
  • - sugar - 4 teaspoons.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, carefully sort the oats, removing all kinds of debris from it. After this procedure, rinse the cereal thoroughly under cold running water. Repeat several times. Pour clean oats into a glass jar, the volume of which is equal to three liters.

Step 2

Then add granulated sugar to the bowl with cereal. Fill everything with clean cold water. Boil it before adding it. Leave the future oat kvass at room temperature and leave it alone for 4 days. This is necessary in order for it to ferment.

Step 3

The first portion of the resulting oat kvass must be drained, as it turns out to be tasteless. At the same time, do not throw out the oats, but again pour 4 glasses of water, but not boiled, but fresh, and add 4 teaspoons of granulated sugar. Leave it to infuse again at room temperature.

Step 4

After 3-4 days have passed, strain the resulting kvass and place it in the refrigerator. If you want to get another portion of this drink, then repeat the above procedure again. Up to 10 servings of kvass can be made from the same oats. Only during the preparation of the drink, keep in mind that fermentation should not take place at a very high temperature, otherwise you will end up with jelly.
