Making coffee in a French press is very convenient, practical and quick. But to make the drink tasty and aromatic, you must follow the rules and sequence of preparation.

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the French press glass. To do this, rinse it with very hot water and dry it. Grind coffee beans of any roast in a coffee grinder. The coarsest grind is best for making coffee in a French press so that the mesh filter does not become clogged. In a French press, you can prepare any kind of coffee and their mixtures.

Step 2

Heat filtered water to a temperature of 90–95 C. Lift the plunger (piston of the French press) up as far as possible. Pour 3–6 teaspoons of ground coffee into a 350 ml French press flask. Fill with hot water, without adding two centimeters to the edge of the French press glass. A light, dense foam - cream should form on the surface of the drink.

Step 3

Stir the coffee with a wooden spoon or stick carefully and carefully so as not to break the French press flask. As a result, the cream should become cappuccino-colored with a height of about 1 cm.

Step 4

Gently lower the bottom of the plunger 2 cm down, close the lid of the French press and let it brew for two to five minutes. Then, in one smooth motion, lower the plunger all the way to the bottom and press down well on the coffee residue (thick). At the same time, the cream should remain the same dense and fragrant. Now gently pour the coffee into large enough cups. It is advisable to warm up the cups a little before that - pour boiling water over them. You don't have to pour all the coffee at once. It stays warm in the French press for a long time, but the taste deteriorates.

Step 5

Change the brewing time of the coffee to your liking. To make spiced coffees, add spices and coffee to a flask. Or brew spices and herbs separately, strain through a sieve and pour coffee instead of water with aromatic hot infusion. Then increase the infusion time by a minute.

Step 6

Brew tea or herbal teas in a French press in the same way. Just consider the water temperature and infusion time for each type of tea.
