Homemade gooseberry with sugar is tasty and healthy. It is not required to carry out heat treatment of raw materials, the process takes several minutes, and after it a delicious delicacy from natural ingredients is obtained.

Components for gooseberry blanks

Sugar gooseberries can be prepared in the classic version or with additional ingredients that help enrich the taste of the dish. Citrus fruits are used more often - oranges, lemons. The dish with their addition acquires a slight sourness and is suitable for those who do not like very sweet desserts.

A simple recipe for gooseberries, grated with sugar

To prepare the workpiece, you will need gooseberries and sugar in a ratio of 1: 1, 5. If you wish, you can take more or less of it. The berries must first be sorted out, the spoiled ones must be removed, the stalks must be cut off. Then you need to pour boiling water over the gooseberries and let the excess liquid drain.

After processing with boiling water, the berries are ground in a blender; if it is absent, you can use a meat grinder. The resulting puree must be put in a suitable bowl and sprinkled with sugar. It is better to leave the mixture to stand for a while - it should be saturated with sugar. To do this, stir it from time to time.

Banks in the right amount must be sterilized, filled with mashed berries. Pour one or two tablespoons of sugar on top of each jar. It will create a kind of barrier on the surface through which harmful bacteria will not penetrate to food. The delicacy will be able to last for a long time without losing its qualities. After that, the cans must be closed more tightly and removed for storage in a cool place.

Gooseberry puree with lemon

For gooseberries with lemon, it is better to choose a sweeter berry variety. Then the components combine perfectly, and the dessert turns out to be not sour, but sweet with a lemon hint.

For 1 kg of sweet gooseberries, you need to take 1, 2 kg of sugar, two small lemons. If you want to use an orange, just take one large fruit. Sort the berries, remove the stalks, sort the spoiled ones. Dry them with a paper towel, then grind them in a blender.

Wash the lemons thoroughly, rub, cut and remove the seeds. Together with the peel, fold them to the gooseberry and grind until smooth. If you don't have a blender, you can grate the lemon and grate the gooseberries with a sieve. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a suitable bowl, add sugar and stir.

The jars can now be sterilized. They are filled with cooked gooseberry mass, covered with gauze or lids, and then removed for storage in a cool place. Tightness is not necessary when closing - on the contrary, it is better to use gauze than lids. This allows the air to circulate in the dessert and helps maintain the flavor.
