Squid rings make mouth-watering snacks, delicious salads and very hearty main courses. The key rule for cooking this seafood is the duration of heat treatment - squid should not be boiled, stewed or fried for more than five minutes, otherwise they will become extremely tough.

Deep-fried squid rings

Ingredients:

- a glass of flour;

- 2 eggs;

- 500 g of squid rings;

- lemon;

- 0.5 liters of vegetable oil;

- pepper and salt to taste.

Preparation

Prepare squid rings. If they are frozen, defrost them first. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.

Whisk the eggs in a small bowl with a fork until smooth.

Pour the flour into a flat bowl and combine with salt and pepper. You can safely replace the pepper with your favorite spices.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, preferably deep. Dip each squid ring in an egg and then flour. Shake off excess flour from the rings before frying to avoid “contaminating” the oil.

Fry the breaded rings in hot oil for 3-4 minutes. They should take on a rich golden hue.

Place the fried rings on a paper towel for a while. It perfectly absorbs excess fat. After that, transfer the rings to a platter and garnish with lemon wedges. Mayonnaise or any sauce can be served with them.

Squid rings in sour cream

Ingredients:

- a glass of sour cream;

- onion;

- 500 g of squid rings;

- a bunch of greens;

- salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation

Peel the onion and chop it finely. Fry the onions in a deep skillet until soft. This usually takes at least five to six minutes. Stir the onions constantly during frying.

Add sour cream, pepper and salt to the onion. It is better to choose fat sour cream. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Send the thoroughly washed squid rings to the pan and simmer the mixture for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Place ready-made rings on a platter and garnish with herbs, which should be finely chopped.

Squid rings salad

Ingredients for 2 servings:

- 100 g of squid rings;

- a bunch of green onions;

- 100 g of cheese;

- 3 eggs;

- 2 tbsp. l. mayonnaise;

- carrot;

- 1 tbsp. l. soy sauce;

- salt to taste.

Preparation

Rinse the squid rings and immerse them in boiling water for literally 3-4 minutes. Drain and add soy sauce to the rings for 10 minutes.

Boil eggs and carrots. Cut them into small pieces. Do the same with cheese and green onions.

Transfer the ingredients to a salad bowl. Drain the soy sauce from the squid rings and send to the same place.

Add mayonnaise to the salad bowl and mix everything thoroughly. Season with salt to taste. Delicious and nutritious salad with squid rings is ready!
