Delicious fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. In the absence of a deep fat fryer, this effect can be quite achieved when frying in a cast-iron pan. It is quite possible to cook the perfect fried potatoes by following these simple tips.
It is necessary
-
- Vegetable oil
- Potatoes
- Cast iron pan with lid
- Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Wash and peel the potatoes. Potatoes should be fresh, not soft or small.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into thin strips 5 mm wide. If you cut it into cubes, like for a deep fat fryer, it may not fry and soften during the frying process.
Step 3
Place the sliced potatoes on a towel and blot with another towel on top to remove moisture. Again, this is done so that the potatoes do not soften in hot oil.
Step 4
Put a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, after heating, pour a thin layer of vegetable oil on the bottom. Keep on fire until the oil is hot.
Step 5
Place the potatoes in hot oil, spread with a spatula in one layer so that it covers the entire bottom. The potatoes should be greasy.
Step 6
Cover with a lid for 5-10 minutes. It is better to leave the fire medium so that it is fried. Check periodically for a crust.
Step 7
As soon as the potatoes are fried on one side, turn them over very carefully with a wide spatula. It is important not to break the straw and turn it into porridge.
Step 8
Leave the other side uncovered to make the potatoes crisp. Leave to cook for 5-10 minutes. You can spread it.
Step 9
Only after laying out the fried potatoes on a plate is it recommended to salt them. If you do this earlier, the potatoes will boil, and you simply will not achieve a perfect crunch.
