Many people love cranberries, but you can't eat a lot of them raw - they are too sour. The recipe for cranberries in sugar will help save the day. The result is a wonderful dessert tasty snack.

Ingredients:

  • water - 2 cups;
  • sugar - 3 cups;
  • cranberries - 400 g.

Preparation:

First you need to do painstaking work. Sort out all the cranberries, discard the spoiled ones. Pierce each suitable berry with a toothpick.

Take a small saucepan and mix 2 cups of sugar and water in the same amount in it. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat until all the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the resulting syrup over the berries. Then cool them to room temperature and, covered with cling film, place in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning the next day, drain the syrup into a separate bowl with a lid. A jar or bottle will do, for example. Do not throw it away, as this is the most useful and delicious thing - it will undoubtedly come in handy for subsequent recipes. Sprinkle the remaining cranberries with a third of the sugar.

The syrup can be used, for example, to create drinks, to add to ice cream and cereals. Among other things, it has an excellent antipyretic effect. In some cases, it is used to prevent urolithiasis.

Roll the cranberries well, try to cover the berries completely with granulated sugar. Cranberries in sugar are ready, you can store them no more than a few days in any dry place and eat them as they are.
