  • sour cream - 550 g;
  • cream - 500 ml;
  • nuts;
  • icing sugar - 1.5 cups;
  • baking soda - 2 tsp;
  • butter - 90 g;
  • eggs - 2 pcs;
  • wheat flour - 450 g;
  • sugar - 250 g;
  • natural honey - 4 tablespoons

Instructions

Step 1

Whisk granulated sugar and eggs. Combine them in a deep bowl with butter and melted honey. Stir the mixture well.

Step 2

Place the container with the mixture in a water bath and add baking soda. Stir the mixture constantly so that it does not burn. When the mass has approximately doubled and the color becomes slightly darker, remove the container from the heat.

Step 3

Add flour and knead the dough. When it cools down a little, divide by the required number of parts, depending on the size of the mold. Roll out each layer. You can, for example, use a plate as a template and then cut out the circles.

Step 4

Bake the cakes in an oven preheated to 200 oC. Also prepare some scraps for decoration. Place the baked cakes in a stack and let them cool down.

Step 5

Whisk the sour cream, cream and honey with mud until smooth. Spread the cakes with the resulting cream. Putting them together, sprinkle the sides and top of the cake with chopped nuts and crumbs from the scraps. Place the Ginger Cake in the refrigerator to soak overnight. You can garnish it with fruit or creamy jelly if you like.
