Preparation, cleaning and disinfection of storage facilities and equipment play a very important role in the preservation of flour. To prevent flour from becoming infected with all kinds of bugs, it is necessary to store it correctly.
Instructions
Step 1
To protect flour from various bugs, store it in paper bags, linen or cotton bags, or in jars covered with cloth in a cool dry place. Before pouring flour into them, soak the cloth bags well in a strong saline solution and dry. Place metal lids or lemon peels in the flour to protect it from pests.
Step 2
Before storing flour, heat it well in the oven to destroy any larvae in it. Check flour regularly for pests. If you suspect that the flour is contaminated, heat it in the oven or microwave. At high temperatures, all larvae die, and the flour can be used by sifting it through a fine sieve. But keep in mind that warming up should be short-term.
Step 3
In the event that bugs have already started up in the flour, it is better not to be greedy and throw the product away, because using such flour you can get poisoned. To scare away the bug, bury a clove of garlic in the flour, but the flour acquires a garlic smell, respectively, and it is not advisable to use it for baking, for example, cheesecakes, but it will do for pies with mushrooms or meat.
Step 4
Another way to preserve flour. Immediately after purchase, freeze it for one day on the street in the winter season or in the freezer at home and let it stand for a week. Then freeze again and let stand. This is done in order to remove all the delayed bug larvae, which they lay in flour warehouses before going on sale.
Step 5
You can also store flour in a cloth bag in a plastic bag. To prevent bugs from getting into the sterile flour, place the bag on the floor and sprinkle with vegetable dust. Vegetable dust is very effective against all bugs and is completely harmless to the body; it can be purchased on any market as an insect repellent.
