Timbale is a French pie base (reservoir), the recipe for which is borrowed from the Italians. The dish with all kinds of fillings immediately won the hearts of many connoisseurs of delicious and unusual food.

It is necessary

  • - 300 g chicken liver
  • - 3 eggs
  • - 2 egg yolks
  • - 350 g cream
  • - fresh lettuce leaves
  • - 2 tbsp. l. butter
  • - a small clove of garlic
  • - black pepper
  • - 1 tsp grated nutmeg
  • For the sauce
  • - 2 tbsp. l. butter
  • - 2 chopped onions
  • - 10 chopped tomatoes
  • - 1 clove of garlic
  • - salt, pepper, basil

Instructions

Step 1

Place the chicken livers in a mixer along with the eggs and egg yolks and mash.

Step 2

Bring the cream to a boil and add in a thin stream to the mixture, stirring constantly. Add garlic, salt, pepper, nutmeg at the same time.

Step 3

Dip the lettuce leaves in boiling water for 2 minutes, then spread them on kitchen paper.

Step 4

Grease the molds with butter and place the leaves in them. Divide the liver mixture evenly into tins and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35 minutes.

Step 5

Prepare the sauce. Fry the onions in vegetable oil, add garlic, tomatoes, salt, pepper and basil. Cook the mixture for 30 minutes until thickened.

Step 6

Place warm timbale gently on preheated plates. Pour the sauce around them.
