Turkish delight is a sweetness that came to us from the east. The main ingredients for cooking are water, sugar and starch. A variety of Turkish delight is achieved by adding nuts and various fruit syrups and juices. The Turkish delight recipe is quite simple. Cooking takes time. You can substitute cherry syrup with any other fruit or berry syrup.

- 4 glasses of water;
- 4 glasses of sugar;
- 2 tablespoons cherry syrup
- 20 gr. butter;
- 0.5 cups icing sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour one glass of cold water over the starch. Stir well.

Add sugar to a saucepan with the remaining water and bring to a boil.
Step 3
Cook over high heat, periodically skimming off the foam.
Step 4
Stirring continuously, pour the diluted starch into the syrup in a thin stream.
Step 5
Cook, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and begins to lag behind the walls.
Step 6
Turn off the heat and pour the syrup into the mixture. Stir well.
Step 7
Line the baking sheet with baking paper and brush with butter.
Step 8
Spread out the mass in an even layer 3-4 cm thick.
Step 9
Leave to set for 12-14 hours.
Step 10
Cut the frozen Turkish delight into cubes and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
