Mango is a sweet tropical fruit with a juicy, aromatic orange pulp. Mangoes are eaten just like that and added to salads, served in the form of salsa or chutney as a garnish for meat or fish, they make cocktails, cakes, mousses and mashed potatoes from it. But any recipe using mango starts with peeling the fruit. This is where the difficulties begin for some.

Instructions

Step 1

Inside the mango lies a flat bone, similar to a giant sunflower seed, the fibrous pulp of the fruit is very tightly attached to it. If we try to cut a fruit in half and extract it, like a peach one, we will fail. Just pep up from head to toe with a fragrant and surprisingly sticky juice. You can, of course, cut off the peel from ¾ mango and eat the fruit like an exotic popsicle, but if you want to cook a beautiful dish with mango pieces, this method will not work for you.

Step 2

Prepare two knives - one large (bread) and one small (fruit). Place the mango on a board, find a soft longitudinal hole on it and use a large knife to cut two semicircular pieces to the left of the fruit, trying to cut as close to the bone as possible.

Step 3

Take a fruit knife in one hand, and with the other hold one of the "cheeks" of the mango on the board with the pulp upward. Without touching the mango peel, make several parallel lines in the pulp at a distance of one and a half centimeters from each other. You should press down on the knife with enough force to cut the flesh to the rind, but not touch the rind itself. Unfold the half 90 degrees and repeat the operation. Take the second "cheek" and do the same with it.

Step 4

You have two mango halves, the juicy flesh of which is cut into squares, but still attached to the rind. It's easy to fix. Prepare a bowl, take one of the halves with both hands and, using your fingers on the bottom of the peel, turn it inside out. The squares of juicy pulp will stand over the peel as a kind of "hedgehog". Take a knife and cut them into a bowl. Repeat the operation with the other half.

Step 5

Now all you have to do is cut the flesh around the bone, peel it off and cut it into squares too.
