Carrot jam is an original and beautiful delicacy with an unusual taste; you can use it as a filling for pies, pies, rolls, decorate them with cakes and pastries.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of carrots;
- - 0.8 liters of water;
- - 1 kg of sugar;
- - 1 tsp lemon juice;
- - vanillin.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the youngest root vegetables with a tender and soft core, preferably a bright orange color. Rinse well and boil them in boiling water for 5-10 minutes, then cool the carrots and peel them off. Cut the processed fruits into circles or cubes.
Step 2
Combine half the sugar with 0.8 liters of water and make a syrup. Pour the chopped carrots over them and leave to infuse for 5 hours, then bring and cook for several minutes, soak for 12 hours.
Step 3
Add the remaining sugar to the settled carrots, mix well and bring to a boil over low heat. Keep the jam on the fire until the syrup is thick and the carrots are clear. Put a pinch of vanillin and lemon juice in the finished dessert, mix again. Divide the cooled product into clean and dry jars, store in the refrigerator.
