Rice porridge often appears on tables as a side dish. However, it can also become a wonderful independent dish. The main thing when cooking rice is to take into account some of the features of its preparation.

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare rice. To do this, first sort out the cereal well, cleaning it from various impurities and all spoiled grains. Then rinse the sorted rice thoroughly in warm, and then in hot water. Thanks to warm water, rice will be cleaned of starch, and fat accumulated during storage of cereals will be removed. As a result, the finished porridge will turn out fluffy and crumbly.
Step 2
When choosing rice for porridge, give preference to round cereals, because it boils down better. If your choice is steamed rice, soak it in water for half an hour before starting to cook porridge.
Step 3
Pour water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour the prepared cereal into it.
Step 4
Simmer for 10-15 minutes. In the first 5-7 minutes of cooking, gently stir the porridge from time to time. Drain off the remaining water and add two cups of milk to the rice.
Step 5
Cover the saucepan with a lid and cook the rice over low heat until cooked. This will take about 30 minutes.
Step 6
Add salt and sugar to the porridge to taste, season with butter.
Step 7
Remove the porridge from the heat. Wrap the pan tightly with a towel or blanket and let it brew for 30-50 minutes. If desired, add various fruits, raisins, dried apricots, nuts to a plate with rice porridge. Bon Appetit!
