Homemade gingerbread cookies can become real works of art if you decorate them with colorful sweet glaze, paint ornaments and patterns on them.
It is necessary
- - 250 grams of powdered sugar;
- - 1 egg white;
- - food colorings.
Instructions
Step 1
To glaze the gingerbread cookies, take the required amount of powdered sugar and place it in a small deep bowl. Then break one egg, separate the white from the yolk, then add the egg white to the icing sugar in a bowl. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until smooth, making sure that no lumps remain.
Step 2
If your gingerbread frosting is too thin, add a small amount of icing sugar, but if the icing, on the contrary, is too thick, add boiled water. Put the finished glaze in a special freezing bag or a regular plastic bag. This glaze is useful for tracing the gingerbread.
Step 3
Make a small hole in the corner of the bag. Prepare the gingerbread cookies and start contouring them with a thick icing. When drawing lines with icing, stop at all corners so that the lines have the exact shape of a gingerbread.
Step 4
When you have made the outlines for all the gingerbread cookies, leave them to dry. At this time, prepare the icing to fill the gingerbread. This type of glaze should be more liquid than the glaze for the contour, so add a small amount of boiled water to its composition, as well as food colors, mix the resulting mass thoroughly.
Step 5
When the outline on the gingerbread is dry, start painting over the gingerbread with colored glaze. It is best to fill with a small brush. Apply the glaze in an even layer, if bubbles begin to form on the surface, gently burst them with a toothpick. The curved lines of the contour can be corrected with a toothpick, but if the line is not what you wanted, carefully remove it and draw a new one.
Step 6
When all the gingerbread cookies are glazed, leave them to dry completely, then you can make drawings on them with glaze of a different color.
Step 7
The glazed gingerbread cookies are ready, serve with hot tea.
