The main point of such a diet is that you cannot mix proteins and carbohydrates. That is, for one meal we eat protein food, and during another meal that is rich in carbohydrates. Based on the principle of food separation, experts have compiled many diets that are now very popular.
The basis of this type of nutrition is the assertion that if incompatible foods are found in the stomach, then their digestion will be difficult. This happens because an alkaline environment is required to process carbohydrates, and an acidic environment is required to break down proteins.
All products, if you follow the idea of separate nutrition, are divided into three groups:
• neutral (fruits, fresh vegetables, mushrooms, nuts, dried fruits, herbs, cream, butter, high-fat cottage cheese, sour cream, animal fats);
• protein (legumes, nuts, soy, low-fat dairy products, eggs, fish, meat);
• carbohydrate starchy (sweet fruits, potatoes, rice, pasta, cereals, bread)
Protein does not combine with carbohydrates. And products from the neutral group are combined with all others.
Separate feeding principles
Don't eat two types of protein in one meal. Vegetables are suitable for any proteins and carbohydrates. Fats and proteins don't mix. Do not mix proteins with starchy ones. Fruits, berries and nuts go well with each other. We use the same product no more than three times a week. Do not mix proteins and sour fruits. Do not mix melon and watermelon with other foods.
