Puff pastry is used for making various baked goods, but making it at home is quite time consuming and troublesome. Therefore, ready-made frozen puff pastry is a real salvation for the busy modern woman.
In addition to sweet and savory puff pastries, you can easily make envelopes with ham and cheese.
To prepare them you will need:
- yeast-free puff pastry - 0.5 kg;
- ham - 0.5 kg;
- hard cheese - 200 g;
- egg - 1 piece;
- sesame seed for decoration.
First of all, defrost the dough. This usually takes at least half an hour. While the dough is melting, cut the ham and cheese into very thin slices. This is necessary so that the dough does not break during pinching, but is plastic.
Divide the melted layer of dough into three or four pieces, each of which is rolled out very thinly. Cut the dough into rectangles, the size of which should be slightly larger than the ham and cheese. Put a couple of slices of ham and a piece of cheese on one edge of the rectangle, cover the filling with a free edge and pinch very tightly so that the cheese does not leak out during cooking.
We spread the tubes on a baking sheet, greased in advance with sunflower oil. Beat the egg and grease our semi-finished product with it, sprinkle with sesame or flaxseed on top.
Preheat the oven to about 200 degrees, place a baking sheet in it and bake our envelopes for 15-20 minutes. We put the ready-made pastries on a dish, after which we let them cool down a little and serve them to the table with a sense of pride.
