Many of us like to drink tea with delicious and aromatic pastries after the main meal. There are no problems with the choice of desserts, the assortment in stores is huge, and there are a lot of interesting recipes for homemade pies. But what about people who are fasting? They are not allowed to eat most of the traditional desserts. There is a way out - to learn how to cook a lean pie.
It is necessary
- - 250 g of fresh carrots;
- - 175 g granulated sugar;
- - 1 glass of wheat flour;
- - 100 ml of vegetable oil;
- - 2 tbsp. l. bread crumbs;
- - 20 g of raisins and almonds;
- - By ¼ h. L. baking powder and vanilla sugar (the amount of the last ingredient can be varied to your taste).

Step 1
Once you have all the ingredients, you can start kneading the lean carrot dough. First of all, wash, peel and grate the root vegetable on a fine grater.

Soak the raisins in hot water for 5-7 minutes, drain the liquid, transfer the product to a bowl with the carrots. Chop the almonds in a convenient way, for example, with a blender.
Step 3
Combine chopped nuts with carrots and raisins, add vanilla and regular sugar there, pour in vegetable oil, add baking powder and bread crumbs.
Step 4
When all the ingredients are in the bowl, stir the dough thoroughly and begin to gradually add flour. Do this slowly, carefully wielding a spoon, otherwise the flour will stick together in a lump, and you will not be able to bake a lean pie.
Step 5
Line a baking dish with parchment paper, spread the dough on top. Bake the lean pie in the oven at 180 ° C for 30 minutes. The finished baked goods have a beautiful orange color and sweet taste.
Step 6
In the future, you can experiment with the recipe. Breadcrumbs may be replaced with oatmeal, raisins - with prunes or dried apricots, almonds should be removed altogether or put in a larger volume. For flavor, some housewives add cinnamon to the carrot cake. But this taste is not for everybody.
