Any real housewife can cook delicious borscht, but not every woman is familiar with another, not hackneyed recipe for this popular dish. The main ingredient in green borscht is sorrel. This leafy vegetable is rich in vitamin C, which can help alleviate vitamin deficiencies. Be sure to try this unusual borscht recipe, which is often also called green cabbage soup.

It is necessary

  • - potatoes 4 pcs.;
  • - meat for broth 400 g;
  • - egg 2 pcs.;
  • - onion 1 pc.;
  • - butter 150 g;
  • - dill, parsley, salt, pepper;
  • - carrots 1 pc.;
  • - sour cream;
  • - a bunch of sorrel and spinach.

Instructions

Step 1

At the very beginning, you need to prepare the meat broth. Rinse the meat thoroughly and put it to simmer over low heat, after filling it with water. To heighten the aroma, add black peppercorns and bay leaves.

Step 2

While the broth is on the stove, boil into eggs. Hard-boiled eggs reach their readiness 8-10 minutes after the water boils.

Step 3

We wash and clean the greens. Chop the carrots and onions finely, cut the potatoes into cubes and coarsely chop some of the sorrel.

Step 4

Transfer the other half of the sorrel to a plate, pour boiling water over it and add spinach there. Such a broth should be infused for 5 minutes, after that it must be drained, and all the greens must be chopped with a knife or blender.

We make a frying of carrots and onions.

Step 6

As the broth is ready, you need to add potatoes and onions with carrots there. From this moment, the broth should be boiled for another 15 minutes.

Step 7

Add the spinach and sorrel puree to the broth, and leave it to cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 8

At the very end, add ground pepper and any other greens. Turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid - let the green borscht infuse for a few minutes.

When serving the soup, add the egg. Green borscht with sour cream will be delicious!
