Quesadilla is the national dish of Mexico. It is a bit like a burrito. In other words, these are such stuffed cakes. But if cheese is not required for a burrito, then it is necessary in a quesadilla recipe. The filling in this dish is placed between the tortillas and fried in a pan or grill. Another integral part of quesadilla is some kind of sauce, most often "Salsa" is used.

It is necessary

  • chicken breasts - 1 kg;
  • tortillas - 9 pcs;
  • tomatoes - 1 pc;
  • hard cheese - 400 g;
  • bulgarian pepper - 1 pc;
  • tomato paste - 1 tablespoon;
  • garlic - 1 head;
  • dill and cilantro - a bunch;
  • onion - 1 head;
  • vegetable oil - 100 g;
  • chili pepper - 1pc;
  • dry white wine - 50 g;
  • coriander - 0.5 tsp;
  • freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel the onion and chop into small cubes. Cut the garlic into thin slices. Rinse the chicken fillet under running water and cut into thin slices.

Step 2

Heat some oil in a skillet and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent for three minutes. Then add the chopped chicken fillet pieces to the onion and fry for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

Peel and chop the bell pepper and tomato. Remember to remove the skin from the tomato. Add chopped tomatoes and bell peppers to the chicken and onions, continue simmering for a while.

Step 4

Cut hot peppers into thin strips and chop a small bunch of cilantro. After 5 minutes, pour the white wine into the skillet. Then place hot peppers and herbs there. Stir and add a tablespoon of tomato paste.

Step 5

After 5 minutes, add 0.5 teaspoon coriander, freshly ground black pepper and salt to the cooking mass. Reduce the heat and simmer the sauce for another 5 minutes. Next, remove it from heat and let it brew for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Place the flatbread on a flat dish. Sprinkle a layer of cheese evenly over it. Next, spread a layer of vegetables and chicken over the cheese. Leave the edges of the cake 0.5 cm free. Sprinkle another layer of cheese. Place another cake on top. Lightly flatten the chicken quesadilla with your hand.

Step 7

Fry the quesadilla in a pan, process each side for 1.5 minutes. Now the dish can be considered completely ready.
