Guacamole has long been known far beyond the borders of Mexico. The widespread distribution of this snack has led to the emergence of a large number of options for its preparation, but the traditional recipe remains the same - the classic Mexican guacamole must have three main components: avocado, chili and garlic.
It is necessary
- Ingredients for 4 servings:
- - 2 avocados;
- - half a chili pepper;
- - a clove of garlic;
- - 2 spoons of water;
- - 1 tomato;
- - half a small onion;
- - lemon;
- - a teaspoon of chopped cilantro;
- - olive oil to taste;
- - salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the seeds from the chili peppers so that the dish does not turn out to be overly spicy. Peel the garlic, cut it in half and put it together with the chili in a mortar, chop it with a pestle. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the mortar and leave for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Peel and seed the tomato, cut into neat small cubes, set aside. Peel the onion and chop very finely. Remove the bone from the peeled avocado, knead the pulp with a fork until puree, set it aside (avocado for guacamole should be ripe, but not overripe).
Step 3
Filter a mixture of garlic and chili pepper with water through a strainer or cheesecloth. Mix avocado puree with chopped onion and chopped tomato. Squeeze out the lemon juice and add to the guacamole, pour in the strained liquid from chili and garlic, add a little olive oil. Salt the appetizer to taste and add finely chopped cilantro, mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Step 4
We shift the guacamole into a beautiful dish (preferably earthenware, since it is more typical for Mexican cuisine), immediately serve it. Guacamole is best paired with nachos, corn tortillas, or regular chips. This traditional Mexican appetizer will appeal to all lovers of spicy dishes.
