Chicken meatballs can rightfully be considered an exquisite delicacy: in alliance with tomato sauce and cheese filling, the dish acquires a special chic, and baking in the oven allows you to fully preserve the juiciness and tenderness of the meat.
Ingredients:
- Minced chicken - 0.5 kg;
- White bread or loaf - 60 g;
- Boiled water - 250 ml;
- Hard cheese - about 200 g;
- Milk - 0.5 tbsp;
- Onion - 1 pc;
- Tomato paste - 2 tbsp l;
- Salt and spices;
- Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Preparation:
- Clean and chop the onion into compact slices. Chop the cheese on a coarse grater, and soak the bread for a few minutes in chilled milk.
- Mix the minced meat (in addition to the chicken, you can grind the turkey) with chopped onions and most of the cheese (we separate about 50 g to decorate the dish before baking).
- We put bread, previously squeezed from milk, and one egg. Add spices and salt to your taste and mix well. Now the minced meat must be placed in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
- Working with a chilled mixture is much more pleasant and convenient. We wet our hands with water and make medium-sized rounded meatballs. We line the formed products in a row at the bottom of the baking dish, pre-oiled with vegetable oil.
- Grind the cheese on a grater (we had 50 g left) and generously sprinkle the meat balls. After that, they need to be covered with tomato filling: for its preparation, we dilute tomato paste in water and mix with any spices.
- We install the form in a preheated oven for half an hour (you may have to add five minutes). The optimal mode is 180 degrees.
Chicken meatballs are a rather versatile dish: any side dish will suit it, be it mashed potatoes or boiled rice.
