To have a tasty and useful time at the table, you can turn to simple and well-known products. Kulesh is a dish of Ukrainian and South Russian cuisine that will help diversify your diet without harming your wallet.
It is necessary
- - water 2, 5 liters;
- - millet 3⁄4 cup;
- - potatoes 3 pieces of medium size;
- - onion;
- - salt, bay leaf, black peppercorns, a clove of garlic.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour the thoroughly washed millet into boiling salted water, put lavrushka, a few peas of black pepper. After 5 minutes add the diced potatoes to the millet.
Step 2
While the base of the dish is being prepared, let's do the frying. We put a frying pan to warm up, and in the meantime, cut the bacon into cubes and finely chop the onion. As the frying pan is hot, throw in the bacon, and stir quickly, lightly brown it. Add the onion and fry until the lard turns brown. Do not forget to stir all the time.
Step 3
Millet is boiled for 25 - 30 minutes. During this time, the frying will just be prepared. Put the boiling cracklings from the pan into a saucepan, add finely chopped garlic, cover with a lid and turn off the heat.
Step 4
Let the dish steep for about half an hour. It turns out a thick soup, similar to porridge.
Based on your preferences, you yourself can prepare kulesh, exactly according to your taste. For example, if you don't like lard, replace it with pieces of fried meat or stew. And if you are fasting, instead of bacon, use mushrooms or bell peppers, after frying the desired ingredient in oil.
