Many women want to maintain a beautiful figure and therefore prefer diet foods. The magic of this word works unmistakably, and now marketers of all stripes hang these beautiful labels on products that are sometimes even unhealthy.
In the best case, you will be offered sunflower oil without cholesterol, although it cannot be there by definition. And at worst - a cereal high in sugar and carbohydrates, like candy.
Is it that useful? Low-fat dairy products are often found, which contain a lot of calcium, and calcium without fat is simply not absorbed. Rather, without fat-soluble vitamin D. Such foods can be consumed if you want to make your diet less nutritious. However, low-fat cottage cheese, which women love so much, can be considered useless in terms of vitamins and minerals.
Not everything is in order with yoghurts either - powdered milk and fruit fillings are added to them, as well as all kinds of "E". The result is not something that is not a dietary, but a very allergenic product, which, due to an excess of simple carbohydrates, increases body weight.
These include muesli bars. Of course, they outperform the chocolate bars. However, if you look at the amount of sugar and fruit juices and syrups in them, we get 300 kcal, but there is not much satiety, and after 20 minutes you already want to eat. In addition, these bars must be checked for allergens: these can be harmful compositions, stabilizers, flavor enhancers and leavening agents. If you really want to, then you can eat the bar 2 times a week, but only in the first half of the day, because after 15 hours the body absorbs carbohydrates worse.
You should also not get too carried away with bread. How do we reason? If without harm, then you can eat as much as you like. And we don't think that 3-4 loaves of bread will give us more calories than a slice of whole grain bread. They also swell in the stomach, making it difficult for it to digest other foods. Which exit? For the first or second breakfast, you should eat 2-3 loaves of bread with coarse fibers: from buckwheat kernel, from whole wheat flour, soaked oats or coarse rice grains. Nutritionists do not consider soy or cornbread to be a healthy food. It is good if the crispbreads were prepared without the use of oil in a special drying. It is better to eat them with vegetables and herbs, as well as with fermented milk products.
Sugar substitutes were once considered a panacea for diabetics and those looking to lose weight because they stimulated the body to produce insulin and caused smooth fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Nowadays, many sweeteners are produced chemically, and nutritionists advise avoiding them. For example, aspartame promotes the production of methanol and phenylanalanine, which accumulate in the body. In addition, many scientists have shown that aspartame lowers serotonin levels, which can affect mood, sleep and appetite.
Natural sweeteners such as stevia are safer. It does not accumulate in the body, does not interfere with the functioning of the liver and kidneys, and does not affect the mental state, unlike some chemical analogues.
They are dangerous when they are abused. Some people forget that this is an element of sports nutrition, the main function of which is to supply the body with protein. It is needed only during intense training and not as a light snack if there is no time for lunch. Proteins can adversely affect the kidneys and should only be consumed an hour and a half before or immediately after exercise. And it is completely unreasonable to absorb such bars in the office, because you will not be able to spend the energy received with this food.
If you are a true fan of healthy products, then it is best not to believe the advertising labels on the wrappers, but to study the composition of the product: what is the protein in it, how many compositions with the "E" sign, what kind of fat is present and how much sugar or its substitutes.
